Mission: Drug strategies promotes more effective approaches to the nation's drug problems and supports private and public efforts to reduce the demand for drugs through prevention, education, treatment, law enforcement and community initiatives.
Programs: In 2016, more than 63,000 americans died from drug overdoses, primarily from opioids, especially fentanyl coming illegally from china. This past year, drug strategies worked with high level government officials to identify more effective ways to intercept international fentanyl trafficking into the united states. In addition, we provided consultancy services on prevention and treatment of opioid and amphetamine abuse to the recently elected government of myanmar.
