Causes: Down Syndrome, Health
Mission: The organization provides support, resources and advocacy with the aim of increasing awareness and opportunities for individuals with Down Syndrome, their families and caregivers.
Programs: Programs include infant and toddler development, recreation, social and wellness programs for youths and young adults, and member financial assistance. Additional programs educate parents, teachers and professionals about down syndrome and promote public awareness, acceptance and inclusion.
Even before Evelyn was born, they helped us get ready for her. When I found out she would have Down Syndrome, I was scared. DSAWM provided support and information even before she was born. They work in our community so everyone can see having Down syndrome doesn't mean a person can't contribute to society just like anyone else.
