Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Animal Protection & Welfare, Animals

Mission: Double D Equine Rescue was formally founded March 29, 1998 by Larry and Debbie Polasek after witnessing first hand a severely neglected horse, and then being told there are no organizations in the area to help these animals, we began the process of forming our own non-profit organization. Already owning 2 horses that were rescued from slaughter, we set out to help more. Double D Equine Rescue provides hope, love, and promising futures for horses and ponies that have been abused, neglected or abandoned. We also take in horses just needing a safe home.

I helped to support a horse named Cody back in 1999. I realize that Double D Equine Rescue is most likely not an active rescue any longer. The last information I received was that Cody was defying the odds and doing well with alternative therapies in March 2000. I moved to FL shortly after and never had a chance to visit. Was wondering how long Cody lived and thrived. If you have information, please let me know - coniatthebeach@yahoo.com
Thank you.
