I was in dire need of a new Service Dog after losing mine to cancer. I contacted Do Unto Others Assistance Dogs and was first greeted with much warmth and understanding regarding my situation. After a few conversations with one of the 4 executive members, Susan Napier, she set up a Zoom meeting with all the executive members to discuss at length my needs and expectations. I felt like I had found family members after our conversation. I just knew this was the company I wanted to train the puppy I would be buying to become my next Service Dog. Their collective knowledge of training Assistance Dogs is years. Fast forward and I purchased a Golden Retriever puppy through an amazing breeder known for her dogs as becoming Service Dogs. Do Unto Others (D.U.O.) went above and beyond to even help me with this process. My puppy’s name is Halo. It has been 5 months and Halo is turning out to be such a wonderfully trained Service Dog In Training (SDIT). Anytime I text them regarding Halo’s progress, I get a response very quickly. They send me pictures and videos of her showing me what and how she is doing. She is always with one of the 4 members of D.U.O. being trained and loved. I could not be happier with this organization. They have such a wonderful reputation already and people are begging them to train their soon to be Assistance Dogs. I call these women that started this nonprofit the FAB 4!! They are my Angels on Earth. The love that they have for each and every dog they train is beyond impressive. Halo is getting the very best training there is out there. It is not a short process. It takes up to 2 years to train a Service Dog (SD). I can visit her and form a bond with her throughout the process which is an awesome and extra special advantage to have. Other SD non-profits that I know of don’t afford you that luxury. Halo and I have a long road of training still ahead of us but, I am so confident and excited with each and every day yet to come.
