Programs: Mediation - As the leading resource for conflict resolution in Tarrant County and surrounding areas, DRS North Texas provides peaceable and expeditious resolution of business and community disputes using the methodology of mediation. Mediation is a confidential meeting where individuals involved in a disagreement speak jointly with a neutral third party assigned as the mediator. The mediator works diligently with the disputants to facilitate areas of agreement that could lead to a mutually satisfying and beneficial outcome. Services are provided to resolve problems before they reach the level of formal court or legal action, but mediation can also be requested by parties or referred by the courts in cases that have already been filed.
Types of disagreements which may be resolved through mediation at DRS North Texas include, but are not limited to: family/divorce, custody/parent coordination, business disputes, debt collection disputes, personal injury, consumer complaints, probate, landlord/tenant disputes, community disputes/nuisances and mischief, job and employer/employee related issues, and neighbor/neighborhood disputes.
In addition, DRS North Texas provides mediation and conflict resolution training to other organizations and is available to speak to public or private groups on a variety of topics relating to conflict management, negotiation, consensus building, and dispute resolution.
