Mission: Mission StatementTo educate the Lancaster service area concerning diabetes and to prevent, manage, and reduce the probability of complications.Philosophy StatementThe Diabetes Education Center of Lancaster believes that patient education is an integral component of providing continuous quality health care for persons with diabetes. The concept of self-management is promoted through a program that includes the ongoing opportunity to acquire knowledge as well as technical and psychosocial skills necessary for optimal diabetes self-management. The Diabetes Education Center of Lancaster is committed to provide the citizens of the Lancaster service area with information on programs about diabetes through community education. Professional growth and development of health care professionals involved in the care and education of persons with diabetes is strongly encouraged and supported through preceptorship and professional education.
