Mission: The mission of the deruyter free library is to serve as a resource for the education, enjoyment and cultural enrichment of the entire community served by the deruyter central school district. The library strives to improve the quality of life of area residents by promoting a love of reading and an awareness of books and other materials as a means of satisfying the diverse needs and interests of the community it serves.

adult program services: book club, tax preparation assistance for senior citizens, volunteer training, downloadable audio and e books, adult computer training, adult tutoring sessions and historical society presentations. The organization served 433 adults in 2014.
