I've admired Delta Community Services for over ten years, and haven't stopped yet! In our beginning with DCS my husband help pick up and distribute furniture donations and I participated in Thanksgiving and Xmas food drive events, and I've continued ever since. Now besides holiday giving there is the Backpack Project and dresses for little girls' first day of school, I've seen the faces of some of those we have helped and that is thanks enough. My favorite local charity for the work they do to support those less fortunate in our comunity.
I moved to Brentwood 3 years ago and immediately heard good things about Delta Community Services (DCS) and their programs during the holidays. My husband and I donated to the Thanksgiving food drive and the Christmas drive that provided clothing and toys to families in need. It was such a rewarding experience and very well managed by DCS. I was so impressed that I looked for an opportunity to get more involved. After meeting the board of dedicated, passionate volunteers, I applied for a position and was accepted. I am thrilled to contribute and be a part of DCS to serve families in need in our community.
Delta Community Services reaches out and helps those in need within our local community in so many ways. I love the high level of volunteering in the organization as well as their low overhead.
Delta Community Services works diligently to meet the needs of over 200 families in the Brentwood area. Many of the breadwinners of those families are field workers in the local farms. We are careful that all items given to those families are clean, without stains, and look almost new. All who come in need are treated with great respect and we endeavor to find what they are searching for. No items are sold, as all are given. At both Thanksgiving and Christmas, many of these families are given food baskets and Christmas gifts, courtesy of many faithful donors in the community.
This unique non-profit collects clothing and household goods which are available at no cost to those in need in the local community by visiting the Delta offices and "shopping" to outfit their families and homes. My time spent volunteering here is very rewarding when I see those struggling to make a better life be able to obtain items they need in a respectful atmosphere.
DCS provides continuing help to those in need in our 5 city area. They give backpacks and Chrome books to school children, have a wide assortment of clothing for adults and children at their office, gather food for Thanksgiving meals for the needy, and provide Christmas gifts for adults and children.
They. are always looking for new ways to provide help for the community.
Great local organization that caters to the needs of those less fortunate. DCS employs only one person with Board members volunteering time to raise funds, help manage operations and receive donations. Serves a great need with the lowest amount dedicated to administration that I have seen.
Delta Community Services is a wonderful local non-profit. It is volunteer based and the single part time employee is remunerated by the City of Brentwood. All fund-raising projects support the underserved residents of our county. I like to support charity organizations that don't take a percent of my donations to cover big salaries of their staff or board of directors. I know that my donations to Delta Community Service go directly to our recipients.
We moved to Brentwood in October 2021 during COVID. We wanted to learn about the community and found out about Delta Community Services. They were sponsoring a program to create a Thanksgiving box of food for an underserved family in Contra Costa County. It was a wonderful thing to be a part of during the Thanksgiving season. Then Delta Community Services sponsored an adopt a family for Christmas. We were so happy to be able to give back to the community through this great organization. Thank you Delta Community Service for all that you do!
