Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Congregate Meals, Food, Meals on Wheels, Nutrition
Mission: Delmont Meals on Wheels was founded in 1976 to work toward the nutritional, and economic betterment of vulnerable Americans. Meals on Wheels programs throughout the country provide hot, nutritious meals and other nutrition services to men and women who are elderly, homebound, disabled, frail, or at risk. These services significantly improve the quality of life and health of the individuals they serve and postpone early institutionalization.
Target demographics: provide 3 hot meals and 3 bag lunches to those who need food.
Direct beneficiaries per year: over 60 recipients in our area, 3 days a week, 52 weeks a year.
Geographic areas served: Delmont, PA and the surrounding area
Programs: delivering nutritious meals 3 days a week to Seniors and others who are in need.
