Mission: The mission of the Delaware River City Corp. is to revitalize a sustainable riverfront corridor in Northeast Philadelphia by reconnecting the people, places, businesses, and neighborhoods of the City of Philadelphia and the surrounding region to the Delaware River while simultaneously promoting a diversity of uses through implementation of the North Delaware Riverfront Greenway Plan.
Results: Thus far, we have built a 1 mile nature trail at Pennypack on the Delaware park to the mouth of the Pennypack Creek. This year we begin work on another 4 1/2 acre park at the foot of the Tacony Palmyra Bridge; as well as a one mile section of greenway in the neighborhood of Port Richmond. Work is also underway on a portion of the greenway in Holmesburg along State Road near Pleasant Hill Park.
