Ms. Davis began Dee's house to offer preschool services to children who would not otherwise have access to the preschool experience. Ms. Davis named her nonprofit school Dee's House in memory of her deceased son. My husband and I began The K.R.I.S. Foundation to assist disadvanted children and our nonprofit was named in memory of my deceased daughter. Ms. Davis and I fell an immediated connection.
The first year of the KRIS Foundation we found ourselves with $1500. Not a lot but a start. We decided to give $1,000 of the money we had collected to Dee's house. We knew of the remarkable work Ms. Davis and her retired teacher mother were doing. We visited and were absolutely charmed with the skillful and gentle manament that guided the children to learn
I have never regreted for one second the contribution we made to Dee's House.
