Deaf Plus creates an incredible experience for deaf adults with disabilities. Recently the staff and consumers worked together to make a movie of the classic story, Snow White. The acting, storytelling, costumes and sets were so well done, and the consumers showcased talents they might not have a chance to share without the creativity and dedication of the incredible Deaf Plus staff. This is just one example of how Deaf Plus works hard to ensure consumers are treated with equality, dignity and respect, all while having fun, challenging themselves and growing as contributing adults in society. Mission: Dpac supports and enriches lives of adults who are deaf and have disabilities in alameda county, california.
Programs: Day program provides many daily activities for adults with hearing disabilities that includes art and tutoring to heap these adults to reach social and educational equity. During the year ended june 30, 2018, dpac served 33 adults, including 9 part time participants, in the newark based day program that operates from 9 am to 3 pm, monday through friday, 245 days per year.
supported employment program provides assistance to participants to gain an employment. During the year ended june 30, 2018, dpac worked with 14 participants to help them to gain an employment.
