Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Domestic Violence, Family Violence Shelters, Homeless & Housing
Mission: Daystar provides a safe haven for women survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault and empowers them to triumph over trauma and overcome barriers to leading successful, productive lives, free from violence. Daystar's transformational and life-changing services go far beyond a 'band-aid' approach by providing safe housing, emotional healing and individualized counseling for up to two years. The program focuses on helping survivors develop the skills necessary to break the cycle of abuse.
Programs: Daystar served 14 individuals during 2017. 5 of those individuals graduated the program during the year, making gains in education, employment, physical and emotional health, and sustainable housing.
