Causes: Arts & Culture, Performing Arts
Mission: Our goal is to enhance the cultural enrichment of the community and provide the band members with musical growth and increased performance skills, as well as great pride, camaraderie and fun.
Target demographics: The Band presents free and low-cost concerts to the public between September and July. In addition to our regular concert schedule, the Band may be available for community celebrations, seasonal/park concerts or holiday events.
Direct beneficiaries per year: As of June 2018 the band has presented 21 instruments at a value exceeding $15,000
Geographic areas served: The Band's 85-plus members, who give freely of their time, are dedicated volunteers from Danville (CA) and surrounding communities, including Alamo, Benicia, Berkeley, Castro Valley, Clayton, Concord, Davis, El Cerrito, Fremont, Hayward, Lafayette, Livermore, Martinez, Moraga, Modesto, Oakland, Orinda, Pittsburg, Pleasanton, Pleasant Hill, Richmond, Rio Vista, San Ramon, Stockton, Tracy and Walnut Creek. They represent many diverse professions, students and retirees, and ages range from 13 to 80+.
Programs: The band has an annual Student Instrument Scholarship where we present a new band instrument to a deserving student to encourage and promote their interest and opportunity to play music. Donations to support this program are greatly appreciated.
