Mission: Dante house is home for six individuals served by the cedars of marin, which began in ross, california as a privately owned school of special needs children in 1919, and currently serves adults with developmental disabilities.
Programs: All of the dante house residents enjoy going on group excursions in the house van, attending movies, dances, monday night bowling, participating in special olympics, and attending parties, picnics, and drumming circles with other friends. Particularly favorite activities include watching motorcycles be put through their paces by local neighbors, appreciating the panoramic views of our bay area vistas, and going to beaches and special events from san francisco to berkeley to sonoma. Everyone at dante house is encouraged to be friendly and supportive to his peers. All six of the residents have a sense of humor and there is a lot of good-natured teasing among the residents.
