I am in my second year of mentoring a young girl who is now in second grade. It has been so rewarding to spend time with this student and have an impact on her life. Every time I arrive, she anxiously puts her schoolbooks away and we find a quiet space, usually the library, to read together, color, do puzzles, play board games, and talk about a variety of topics. We have great conversations. I learn about her life, her favorite hobbies and subjects in school, her after-school activities, and more, and she also shows an avid interest in learning about me, as well. Mentoring is so enriching for both of us and I am pleased that there is such an organization as the Danbury Student & Business Connection that brings students and mentors together.

Mission: Danbury Student and Business Connection (DSABC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that fosters collaboration among Danbury Public Schools, local businesses and the community to promote lifelong learning and the successful transition of youth into society and the workforce. The mission of DSABC is to help Danbury Public School students achieve personal and academic success through school based mentoring and scholarship programs.
Target demographics: Danbury Public School students in 13 elementary, 3 middle and 3 high schools
