Causes: Cancer
Mission: To create a compassionate and culturally competent network of resources to provide education, advocacy, and support to underserved women with breast health concerns or a breast cancer diagnosis.
Programs: Community health worker program: total of 30 women served. The overall objective of this program is to support uninsured women during the diagnostic, treatment and post-treatment phases for breast cancer. Services include advocacy, education, patient navigation, peer support and interpretation services.
community outreach & education: the objective of this program is to educate underserved communities on the importance of breast health awareness and to connect uninsured women to free breast and cervical cancer screenings. Total of 198 individuals were educated and 42 uninsured women were connected to free breast and cervical cancer screening.
holiday cheer: during the holiday season, we provided "holiday cheer" to breast cancer patients and their families. Food cards and gift cards were provided to 28 patients in active treatment, who were facing financial difficulties and gifts were provided to 38 children.
a day at the spa: total of 7 women served. Patients were transformed with haircuts, mini-facials, manicures, makeovers, reiki sessions and so much more.
