Having worked with CSF I can vouch for their commitment to helping people whose medical needs would otherwise go unattended. They stay on mission and are a model of the kind of healthcare support needed so much in the U.S.
Imagine a family of five where the main income comes from one person: a mother struggling to care for children and parent, a father tackling the tough economy for his family. A doctor's visit tells them that their condition requires surgery, or they face being bed-ridden, or worse. That mother, or father, has no health plan, or one so limited it is virtually invisible. How can they stay healthy and solvent when faced with thousands of dollars in medical bills? Do they risk their health, or that of their family's? It is a decision faced by hundreds of hard-working people every day in our country, and Cirugía Sin Fronteras is often their only hope. CSF uses their extensive network of surgical and health facility contacts to reduce surgery rates by as much as 90%. Patients pay very little, or nothing, supported by CSF funding, personnel, and attention. To help those who are responsible for others is to multiply results, to leverage resources for the greater good. CSF has been dong this for over 5 years, has helped over 2,200 qualified patients and, though they wish it weren't necessary, are seeking to help thousands more. Health for a person and their family should never be a decision based on money, but while it continues to be a reality in the U.S., CSF will continue its support.
Csf Foundation have done a lot for individuals in most need! I've been a volunteer in their events and the positive impact they have in the community is unbelievable.
