It all began three years ago when my wife and I volunteered for an Elsie Conde camp focusing on work with mentally and physically challenged youth. Work with these kids really showed what true faith and love are. These kids love Jesus and are an inspiration for us to dig deeper and love each other unconditionally. The organization that CTSC brings to the camp makes this rewarding from everyone, most importantly the kids.
Our journey continued this last year when we went with CTSC to Roatan, Honduras on two separate trips. It was so obvious that Claire and her team are making a difference. They are making a difference because they are present and the people on the island know that they are all in, and that they will be back. The most impressive thing about CTSC is that they are teaching respect and personal responsibility to those they touch, knowing that this is the only way that many of the cycles that the individuals are caught up in will be broken.
We are so proud to be associated with an organization where we know that the giving of our time, talents and resources will be optimized.
I had a wonderful experience last summer volunteering at one of the camps in Gainesville. I was so impressed with the planning, organization, and love exuding from all of the workers...from the older ones, all the way down to the teens. God's love was shown to the children each night as they got to know the workers as the week went on. I'm sure this was a highlight of the summer for each child and lots of seeds were planted that should grow as these children get older. I will definitely sign up again to help with one or two of the summer camps!
