Programs: Cranbrook schools are independent day and boarding schools that provide students with a challenging and comprehensive college preparatory education. We motivate students from diverse backgrounds to strive for intellectual,creative, and physical excellence, to develop a deep appreciation for the arts and different cultures, and to employ the technological tools of our modern age. Our schools seek to instill in students a strong sense of personal and social responsibility, the ability to think critically, and the competence to communicate and contribute in an increasingly global community. Fall 2016 enrollment was 1,670 students in pre-k thru 12th grade, of the 1,670 students, 256 students were boarding in the grades 9th thru 12th.
cranbrook academy of art is an independent graduate degree-granting institution offering an intense studio-based experience where artists-in-residence mentor students in art, architecture and design to creatively influence contemporary culture. Fall 2016 enrollment was 141 students. Cranbrook art museum is a dynamic forum for contemporary art, craft, architecture and design, and an integral component of cranbrook academy of art. Through its broad-based educational programs, permanent collection and changing exhibitions, collections and research, the museum engages diverse public audiences in emerging artistic forms and ideas of visual culture. The museum's collections document outstanding examples of art, architecture and design from the 20th and 21st centuries. The museum's attendence for 2016 was 32,192.
cranbrook institute of science advances scientific literacy, nurtures curiosity and encourages advocacy for the natural and cultural worlds in which we live. The museum is open to the public, with 175,033 visitors in 2016.
cranbrook house and gardens auxiliary - funds are raised and expended for the preservation of cranbrook house and gardens, a national landmark, as well as tours and educational programs. Holdings in the cranbrook archives include architectural records, photographic images, audio-visual materials, oral histories and publications relevant to all aspects of cranbrook's rich history.
