The Council on Aging Associates, d/b/a "Braintree Friends", is a private, non-profit, IRS-approved 501(c)(3) organization, which assists the Braintree Department of Elder Affairs by raising funds to supplement the town budget. Our efforts to renovate the kitchen at the Senior Center have succeeded, and the project has been completed. We are proud that we raised just over $100,000 and that the kitchen was dedicated to past COA Chairman John V. Polio. We currently have 223 memberships, comprised of individuals, couples/families, and businesses. It should be noted that the payment or non-payment of membership dues to the "Braintree Friends" in no way affects one's eligibility for receiving services from and participating in activities and programs at the Braintree Department of Elder Affairs. Through one's membership, s/he benefits by hving a copy of the monthly BDEA newsletter mailed to home or business address, receiving an open invitation to serve as a volunteer, being given the opportunity to assist with ongoing fund-raising efforts, and attending the Annual Meeting. Please feel free to attend our monthly meetings, which are scheduled for the third Thursday of each month at 2:00 p.m. at the Braintree Senior Center.
