Mission: Cornerstone United Methodist Church (CUMC) exists to minister to the spiritual needs of our congregation of believers and the community around us. In pursuit of this goal our church serves many related needs as well. And it does all this within an organizational context that places the church in a web of external relationships, some providing support, others implying obligations. And there are multiple internal connections among individuals, groups, subgroups and various programs. Like any organization, CUMC has many roles or “jobs” performed by its members. There are many positions of volunteer leadership. There is also a paid staff. There are many activities that comprise the total ministry of our church. All have varying degrees of connection to each other. Cornerstone United Methodist Church and its'' Ministries are a great source of spiritual sustenance for its members, a shaper of children and youth, a voice of compassion and care in the larger community, a celebration as God''s love in our lives and a source of hope that we are building a better world.
Vision Statement CUMC is a growing church connected to the One True Living God and reaching out to each other, the community, and the world; providing everyone a place where they are welcomed, affirmed, and a part of our church family. CUMC provides relevant, practical, and experiential children, youth, and adult ministries; full-family fellowship programs; and worship service that bond us to each other and Christ. CUMC is a place of racial and cultural diversity that celebrates the commonality of Christ. CUMC ministers in new and exciting ways following the leadership of the Spirit of God and the vision of dedicated, Godly men and women who love unconditionally and desire to see our community grow in faith and mature in love.
Mission Statement "Through joyful worship, spiritual nurture, and compassionate outreach, we seek to reach everyone as disciples for Christ."
Programs:
Welcome to Cornerstone UMC Christian Education Center (CCEC). Our mission is to provide a safe sanctuary that encourages children to develop spiritual, personal, social, and emotional skills. We believe early childhood should be a time of fun, security, discovery and warmth and we strive to help children become confident and eager to learn.
CCEC is a ministry of Cornerstone United Methodist church. It will ensure that all curriculum and activities are in accordance with the United Methodist Doctrine and the highest ideals of Christianity. In using the Cornerstone facilities, the staff will ensure that all employees are not only qualified to handle the curriculum but also have personality traits of maturity, warmth, tenderness, a cooperative attitude and endeavor to exhibit Christ’s character.
We welcome children of ANY religion, race, or national origin. Our Tot-Time, and pre-school programs are open to walking 1 year olds to children 5 years of age. Our Corner Club (after-school program open to children in Kindergarten through Grade 5) is available to children enrolled in Kindergarten through Grade Five. Presently we are not able to accommodate special needs children. For the health of our staff and children, we regrettably cannot accept children who are not current with their immunizations.
