I just can't say enough about the amazing folks over at Fayetteville Animal Protection Society. From the employees to the volunteers you can feel the LOVE!!! Some of the best things in life are adopted, go visit FAPS yourself and see! XOXOXOXOXO #rescue #adopt #FosteringForFAPS
FAPS is a wonderful resource for dogs and cats who need a place to stay while waiting for their forever family. At FAPS, the animals are in a clean environment, well fed, receive medical attention (if needed), and are surrounded by people whose soul purpose is to take care of them. The staff is awesome; they work really hard (it's not just playing with the animals) and appreciate the help and donations received from others. As a volunteer with FAPS, I have had the opportunity to spend time with many dogs. These dogs enter the shelter afraid and confused; they vary in age, breed, and temperament but all just want to be loved and cared for. We all hope for a short stay but sometimes it takes a little time before the perfect family comes along. FAPS is there to give them the time needed. The end result is the best part....adoption day! Picture shows it all: Paisley, my first favorite, with her new mom
I've been volunteering at the Fayetteville Animal Protection Society for eleven years - since I retired. It's been a great adventure. I'm fondly referred to as Miss Elizabeth or that crazy cat lady! I managed to go an entire year before my husband and I adopted our first FAPS cat. Usually, okay, all of the time our FAPS kitties have special needs, FIV positive, neurological problems, diabetic or just plain old. They are all purrfect! Volunteering at FAPS is the best job in town - the staff is professional and compassionate about animals and what they do. They go out of their way to match cats, dogs and people to maximize the chances that every cat or dog is going to their fur-ever home. I never hesitate to tell folks about FAPS, whether it's to go adopt a cat or dog, volunteer or give money - just go - you won't regret it.
FAPS is the most loving, nurturing, and organized animal rescue in Cumberland County. I love spending my summer mornings volunteering there, while my children are at camp. I love it so much that now I have two rescue cats from FAPS.
I started volunteering at FAPS when I came back from my first overseas tour, and it has been the most rewarding experience of my life. Every day I go in knowing that what I’m doing is actively and directly helping these animals, and that these cats and dogs being adopted means that FAPS can save more from local animal services. I found my own fur baby here, and going back to volunteering once my current deployment is over is frankly one of the things I’m looking forward to the most. Fayetteville can be a little rough, but FAPS for me has been a diamond in that rough.
I joined the Army and wound up stationed at Fort Bragg. I was across the country from my family and felt very distant from the world and lost in my day to day life. That all changed when I started volunteering at Fayetteville Animal Protection Society. I felt like I had purpose again in my life. The staff there are all knowledgeable, kind and caring. I feel like my day isn't right without volunteering there now. Its a great organization, staffed by great people and is doing wonderful work giving so many wonderful cats and dogs a well deserved chance at the beautiful peace of a forever home.
This organization is so vital to this community and they are such good stewards of donated funds and for their animals. I adopted two dogs from FAPS and had great experiences both times. I've also donated and appreciate that each time I receive a letter acknowledging my gift to the animals.
Our area has a serious homeless pet problem. We have one of the highest euthanasia rates in our state, way larger than a city of our size should have. But FAPS works hard to find loving, forever homes for these animals. The only licensed no-kill shelter in our area. The staff is wonderful, as are the volunteers. I am so proud to help an organization that is such a benefit to our community. It's truly humbling
Fayetteville Animal Protection Society has been rescuing and caring for homeless companion animals since 1982. They are the only state -licensed, private and non-profit - NO KILL- shelter in Cumberland county. Their facilities are bright, clean and cheerful and every animal gets personal attention. Each animal receives all necessary veterinary care, is spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchiped and heartworm tested. The shelter is managed by an experienced, highly competent pet care professional with a trained staff and loving volunteers. They take care that each pet will go into a loving, forever home.
Faps is a wonderful no-kill shelter. Such loving, committed, hard working, patient staff members and volunteers. We love FAPS! Thank you for all that you do!!!
I absolutely love FAPS! Every day they rescue and save animals lives and match them with loving homes.
