Mission: Contact we care is devoted to promoting emotional well being and preventing emotional crises by providing opportunities for people to express themsevles to compassionate listeners in a safe environment. We respond to the need for human interaction and create opportunities for people to help each other. We offer training in the listening skills needed to support those in crisis.
Programs: The organization is a listening community, providing a listening community through its caring and crisis line and building listening communities through its community trainings in active listening, mental health awareness and suicide intervention. The organization also provides information and referrals on social and professional assistance available throughout new jersey. Their lines are staffed by more than 145 highly trained volunteers. In 2017, contact listeners answered 10,201 calls, devoting more than 5,747 volunteer hours. The organization has a partnership with crisis text line in which crisis text line handles the organization's texting service.
