Connecting Futures, Inc. is a non-profit organization that offers mentoring for girls age 11-18. Union County, North Carolina, has grown approx 62% within the past year and there still is no boys and girls club or any organization on a higher scale for our youth. There are a few organizations such as Connecting Futures, Inc. who are trying to make a difference in the area by targeting a certain group and helping them reach goals and objectives that many of their family members never reached. My girls have truly enjoyed their experience with the organization with the trips to the ballet, assistance with homework, and life skills applications.

Mentoring programs are a must for the youth in our area and world wide. The growth of each youth in the program has exploded. Each year more and more visions, progress and charater has pushed its way forward in our youth because of Sharon Allen's dream becomming a reality. The youth have a future to look forward to. At the end of the day one person has touched someone who will touch someone else who in return will touch someone else. That is worth a pot of gold....
The Connect Future help youth be a better person in the furture. The program have mentors that help u like one on one. Some help apply for youths to get into college or help you fill out applications. The coneect furture make you a better person in life and change your attitude towards many different things that most youth dont pay any attention or may not be intersting in what other may be. This program have really help me since i been it.

The Kings Daughters/Mentoring Program has been very beneficial for my daughter. She was given the opportunity to participate in the program and she loved it. This organization is heading in the right direction because, it's main focus is helping the youth. The program also inspired my daughter to set goals and be a leader.
Connection futures is a great nonprofit oraganization for the youth in union county. As a volunteer, I enjoy assisting the youth for the connection futures in many events. Observing young girls that didn't have a desire to finish high school, but with connection futures mentoring program "The Kings Daughters" to witness three young ladies go on to college. Connection futures is very much needed here in union county and should be recognizes for the great job Ms Sharon Allen does for all the youth in Union County, North Carolina.
When I think of all the things happening to people all over the world. It seems like nobody wants to help those who really need it. So i believe Connecting Futures Inc. is a wonderful program for teenagers because some one have to show these teens how to begin to experience what the real world would be like without their parents buying them everything. We took little field trips dealing with first impressions and budgeting which was very helpful for me cause now i'm a college student and budgeting your time and money is very important while furthering your education, so I say keep this organization around for a long time.
Sharon Allen is a phenomenon woman and trailblazer of Union County. Sharon took a stand to make a difference in our community. Instead of just talking about what needed to be done to address the disparities within our communities and schools that service our underprivileged youth, she took a step and established a wonderful organization” Connecting Futures” to address the issues. I commend her for her courage, perseverance and commitment in spite of obstacles that she may face.
As for the program itself, it is one that children are so excited & proud to be a part of because they receive attention and exposure to things that in their normal life, they wouldn’t have the opportunity to. Which is why I am so committed to the organization because I see the potential that it has, I see the need in the community for it and with the right support and funding; it could be a great success in making a difference in the futures of our children.
Connecting Futures is a non profit organization that focuses on helping youth. I am apart of the King's Daughters Mentoring Program, which is apart of the Connecting Futures organization. This program specifically focuses on mentoring young girls ages 12-18. Sharon Allen is the creator of this program. She has a passion to see all of the girls in her program succeed. She personally chooses each of the mentors on the basis that they want to see theses girls succeed as well. I am personally a mentor and truly value this experience to help these girls achieve. We have after school classes with topics such as good manners and how to handle your money. They have attended college fairs and diversity workshops. This program opens the girls up to experiences they might not have ever had on the own. I am happy to be apart of this great program.
Connecting Futures is an organization heading in the right direction. This is the first year my daughters have participated in the program and they have enjoyed the experience so far. I wish there were more volunteers to catch hold of the vision that Connecting Futures has set forth. I believe that Connecting Futures is a great program that enables youth to encounter experiences otherwise not possible. Sharon really puts her best efforts forward to express to the youth involved that they matter today as well as tomorrow.
Since Connecting Future has been estabished. I have seen many different changes in the kids that pariciptate in the program. They are more out going and exposed to things that they normally wouldn't have been. The children are not only thinking about what they want to do in the future but also finding the skills to get there. It has really has change the out look and it is a valuable resource of the girls in our community.
