Programs: To facilitate cooperation between the vermont ct river watershed advisory commission and the new hampshire ct river valley resource commission, the "joint commissions", in protecting the visual, ecological and agricultural integrity of the ct river valley while planning for and guiding the development of the recreational, tourist, commercial and residential uses of the valley.
continued work, with two rivers ottaquechee regional commision acting as project manager, with byway waypoint communities to install way-finding signs for travelers looking for information and historic and cultural sites and points of interest. Support for this project came from the fhwa national scenic byway discretionary grant program through the vt agency of transportation.
during the last fiscal year crjc has been monitoring the federal relicensing of transcanada's hydroelectric facilities at wilder, bellows falls and vernon dams. Crjc attended public meetings and stakeholder meetings and filed comments with the federal energy regulatory commission, raising issues of local concern. Throughout the year crjc also offered a series of education presentations on a variety of topics. In the fall of 2014 crjcs five local subcommittees reissued their regional recreation management plans which are part of the connective river corridor management plan to reflect the progress made in the past five years.
