Mission: The primary exempt purpose of compassion for africa is to assist orphans, widows, and vulnerable communities in developing countries as a religious charitable organization with short and long-term development projects leading to self-sufficiency.
Programs: Medical clinic in namankwan, ghana. The clinic is staffed by local young women and men who received scholarships from compassion for africa to attend school to become registered nurses. The clinic serves an area of 50,000 underserved women, men and children. This year we have continued to strength the pharmacy associated with the clinic as well as to conduct community health programs. The program expenses for 2016 are $10,450.
education for young women and men to attend secondary school through an animal rearing project. The wilbur project has provided over 1400 girls in northeastern ghana with the ability to stay in school and pay for school fees and exams. Training and sewing is another related project. The expenses for this program are $2,921.
