As a people, where and who would we be without a helpful community there to lift a helping hand? The Community Treehouse Center Detroit has been a true pillar of the community, rendering need to those who otherwise may have gone hungry during the pandemic. Boxed grocery delivery and baked goods were truly life-saving offerings to those who were “staying in and staying safe”! Kudos to all the people involved in making our community stand strong and better together! Looking forward to many more great deeds from the Community Treehouse Center Detroit! Thank you for all that you do!
The Community Treehouse Center’s unique approach to improving resident health and quality of life has never been more relevant given the global COVID-19 pandemic and its effects on our neighborhoods. The CTCD has worked diligently to respond to the needs of residents during the pandemic through produce distribution days every two weeks. Neighborhood volunteers pass out approximately 3000 boxes including lunches, tissue, masks, and hand sanitizer (see below). Additionally, the Center implemented a shared conference call line to encourage positive social distancing and community connection and empowerment. We have implemented free food boxes for Hollandale, Mississippi, and communities in Memphis, Tennessee with other partners. We are helping to provide the needs of individuals all around our country. “Together we will make the world a better place to live”
