Mission: CTCNet was founded on the recognition that in an increasingly technologically dominated society, people who are economically disadvantaged will be left further behind if they are not provided access to and training on information tools. Our mission is to provide resources and advocacy to improve the quality and sustainability of CTCs for underserved communities.
Programs: Launched in 2006, the Connections for All (C4All) program aims to enhance the capacity of CTCs to serve people with a broad range of abilities by offering training and funding opportunities. Funded by a grant from AT&T, this project is a collaboration between CTCNet and the Alliance for Technology Access (ATA). Twenty-four organizations that participated in C4All Accessibility Institutes received $1000 AccessNow Awards to help them make simple and cost-effective changes to improve their programs and facilities to make them more inviting and accessible to people with a broad range of abilities. 14 organizations that participated in the Institutes received $20,000 grants to comprehensively increase their ability to serve individuals of all abilities. CTC Resource Center. Online tool where CTC practitioners can share (upload) best practices, and rate and review resources so that models are being determined by those that use them every day.
