Mission: The development, implementation, and ongoing sustainability of coordinated efforts and projects to support economic development in the mancelona, mi area in the areas of affordable housing, youth development, and community driven development.

Programs: Communities in schools (cis) / choose success before & after school programs - the mission of cis and choose success programs are to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. The objective of cis and choose success is to reduce the number of school dropouts in the mancelona public school system. The cis program provides students both prevention and intervention services including academic assistance, career exploration, college field trips, service learning, and enrichment activities. The choose success program is held both before and after school for 3 hours per day, 4 days per week for 32 weeks during the traditional school year. Programs include academic, recreation, and enrichment activities.

daycare services - community resource development, inc. Provides the staffing for mancelona's day care program and forest area's day care program. The following positions are staffed as needed: child care coordinator, child care lead assistants, child care assistants and substitutes to provide services for mancelona's day care program. The day care centers operate monday through friday from 6:30am - 6:00 pm year-round with the exception of 9 holidays during the year. During the year ended 9/30/11, the mancelona day care program serviced 181 children and the forest area day care program serviced 108 children.
