Mission: Since 1992, Community Human Resources, Inc. (CHR) has been a vital part of the quiet, caring spirit of rural Lewis County, New York. CHR was founded to serve the needs of those with mental health diagnoses. Our founder believed in the potential of each individual, and felt that self help and the support of those dealing with similiar mental health concerns were the keys to recovery. CHR's goal is to help individuals attain and maintain their highest level of recovery and functioning; to strengthen families by offering programs and services to improve parenting skills; make sure the system works on both ends, and to intervene in cases where people "fall through the cracks"; reducing stigma of mental illness by educating the community-at-large and providing employment.
