Mission: The mission of community hospital of bremen is to provide progressive family oriented health care in an atmosphere of christian love and concern to all regardless of age, sex, race, religion, handicap condition, diagnosis, or financial status. To accomplish this mission, the hospital will:* provide a setting for patients to receive quality health care in a cost effective manner through inpatient, outpatient, and emergency services. * focus appropriate resources on the development of services and ventures in response to the health care needs of the community. * serve as a setting for the education and career development of professional allied health personnel. * maintain an environment which allows staff and physicians to provide high quality patient care in a safe and effective manner. Programs: Founded in 1948, community hospital of bremen is a not-for-profit, 24 bed critical access hospital serving the healthcare needs of bremen and the surrounding communities. We are dedicated to providing high quality, compassionate care to the patients we serve. With the opening of our new facility in 2006, our motto "our family caring for yours" is our pledge to offer the highest level of care by competent, caring physicians and staff. With a primary physician medical staff base, chb embraces a holistic approach to patient care. Inpatient services include medical/surgical, obstetrics, and swing bed/skilled nursing. A full service cap accredited laboratory and comprehensive radiology department meets the diagnostic testing needs of inpatients and outpatients. Cont. Sch o. Physical and occupational therapy is provided for inpatients and outpatients. Surgical services offer a variety of same day and inpatient surgical procedures. The medical office suites allow our community to receive medical and counseling services without having to travel a long distance. The physicians provide primary care and specialty services such as pain management, cardiology, orthopedics, urology, gynecology, podiatry and more through hospital based outpatient clinics. The bowen center provides counseling services. Services in the emergency department are available 24 hours per day. The department is staffed by a physician and experienced support personnel who provide professional care. The hospital provides the following programs:* free care and/or subsidized care* care provided to persons covered by governmental programs at/or below cost* health activities and programs to support the community will be considered where the need and/or an individual's inability to pay coexists. These activities include wellness programs, community education programs, special programs for the elderly, handicapped, medically underserved, and a variety of broad community support activities. Community hospital provides care to persons covered by governmental programs at/or below cost. Recognizing its mission to the community, services are provided to both medicare and medicaid patients, to the extent reimbursement is below cost, community hospital recognizes these amounts as charity care in meeting its mission to provide healthcare to the entire community. Community benefit activitiescommunity hospital has undertaken many activities and projects, often without compensation, in order to better serve the larger needs of our community. Following is a partial list of ways we attempt to positively impact our community: * uncompensated care was provided to patients* cardiopulmonary resuscitation classes have been provided to local businesses and industries* ongoing prenatal education classes have been taught* health information and screenings booths have been staffed at various area festivals* our speakers bureau has presented on requested topics to area civic, business and school groups* school groups have toured our facility during the year to learn more about the hospital and careers in health care. In addition, local high school students participate in an intern program in various departments within the hospital to gain exposure to potential careers in healthcare.
