Mission: Our mission is to assist refugees/asylees attain economic self-sufficiency through assets ownership, business ownership and financial literacy services.
Programs: Micro enterprise development closed 21 loans, disbursed 291,000 generated income 19,136 from interest, fees, etc created/maintained 33 employment opportunities maintained 100% loan repayment used downhome solutions software to manage loan fund, loan repayments loan outstanding and to record client's demographic background. Enrolled with credit builders alliance to report borrowers' monthly loan repayment in order to build/establish credit history. Individual development account there were 39 ida clients transferred to the fy2014. 29 clients have existed and now we are left with 10 active clients. Enrolled 70 clients to buy 8 homes, establish 23 businesses, own 35 vehicles to promote employment and promote 4 education opportunities. Out of this number 24 assets were purchased and owned. Mobilized 159,000 amount of money for asset development and economic self-sufficiency in the form clients' saving and 159,000 program matching fund. As a result of the business establishment, vehicle ownership and education opportunities 53 jobs were created/retained. Financial education (the ida and other financial education training) more than 120 clients (per year) attended various financial education (empowerment) sessions at different times of the year. Topics like budgeting and income management, bank banks and account management, credit and credit building, saving and investment, tax, etc were instrumental to support clients make informed financial decision making. Took 64 intakes, enrolled 22, and created 2 part time jobs, still working on licensing refugee home based childcare owners. Provided 762 ta hours and various trainings necessary to get approval from the state and to manage the day to day business operations.
