My story
Some one who had read my posts about collecting items fir the homeless connected me to the CC then I found out that they were all the way in Ellsworth 200 miles away so we laughed but I wanted to know more . I'm collecting clothing blankets and warm clothes for Maines homeless n homeless veterans and the. Veterans dogs. I was very impressed with the CC especially leaving the outside rack out every night. This is when she told me she didn't know what she was goi g to do since they were just about out of blankets. Since I lived in Ellsworth a few years ago I message a few friends n told them of the C.C situation n they said they would drop off what they could. We have communicated a few more times trying to share information. Then due to my posts in an animal group stating I was collecting fir veterans dogs by a woman very eager to help. I asked her where she was from Eastport she said. Oh my I thought googled it 259 miles away lol I thanked her so much and we talked for a while when a lightbulb went on . So I excitedly asked her if she ever went to Ellsworth she said yes all the time !!!Bingo !!!so I told her all about the CC in Ellsworth and then she got very excited!!! Last I heard was that the people in Eastport was very excited because they were going to bring the C.Cmuch.needed items. I love how this works is really just one big village. It's been a privalage to know you all. Journey
They are always very helpful and have good items for people families that cant afford much they are also always open to helping out families who lost things in a tragic way or fire whatever it may be. I am proud to say they are all about the community.
I love this store and all the volunteers I volunteer here 5 days a week it makes me feel good knowing I am doing something meaningfull for our community .
We have had some up and downs in life, but the last few years this place has helped cloth my children in warm clothing. I will not donate anywhere else. i can not be more grateful even if it was just a small pair of boots for my son to ebjoy snow. When someone is in need whether just a hard year or devistation comes to a family The clothing closet is there to help. I can drop off at any time. People are absolutely wonderful! They give their time to help our cummunity. This is not an easy project ,the receiving sorting supplying it is stressful and hard. I am SO grateful for The clothing closet
This place is amazing and has some of the nicest people running it. I donate all of my sons stuff there and get anything he needs that I can't find at other places that I can afford. The money they ask for is beyond worth the stuff. Keep up the amazing job to help everyone that needs it!
This store has very friendly, kind volunteers! They help their community in many ways including leaving blankets outside for folks who sleep outside, or have no heat!
I have given the info to people who needed it then seen them post for help for these people It is one of the best resources for people in need They have a lot of heart
Very helpful had a friend in need and sent them in and you set them right up with what they needed. Thank you
This store is organized, friendly, and very knowledgeable about services in the area. They have great clothes, name brand, lots of new with tags stuff and loads to choose from. Best thrift store i’ve Been to and it’s by donation which makes it even better. Love this place!!!!
This store is run 100 percent by volunteers who give their all to make the store amazing. People can take 10 items of clothes and shoes and pay whatever they want for those items. After that it's only $1.00 each, which makes shopping for a large family inexpensive. The staff is very friendly and care about the community. I love this place. I am a volunteer here and love being here!
