Causes: Mental Health, Substance Abuse Treatment
Mission: To provide the highest quality clinical treatment, family preservation, prevention and education services to reduce the impact of alcoholism and drug addiction as a predominant factor of cases of homelessness, domestic violence, child abuse, child neglect, assault, homicide and suicide.
Programs: Cbi provides facility based crisis/observation services on a voluntary and involuntary basis across 5 separate sites across arizona. Crisis services are medically monitored by an integrated team of medical, behavioral, and para professionals providing assessment, triage and referral services. Patients who meet medical necessity criteria for inpatient services are transitioned to an inpatient level of care for either medical detoxification or psychiatric services. Patients receiving crisis services may also receive warm transfers into an integrated outpatient program, residential treatment program, and/or receive referrals to housing and other supportive services. During october 2016 to september 2017 our crisis facilities had 53,710 admissions. Cbi also provides crisis mobile services in the community in cochise, gila, and pima counties with the goal of resolving a behavioral health crisis either in the community or providing transition to an appropriate level of care.
cbi operates medically integrated outpatient programs across the state of arizona. Seven of these programs serve as the primary location of where patient will receive both their primary care and behavioral health services which include psychiatric treatment and medication assisted treatment for opiate use. Sites are supported by a team of medical and behavioral health professionals. During october 2016 to september 2017 our outpatient programs had a total of 3,858 admissions.
level 2 residential facilities service individuals with a substance abuse and /or serious mental illness. The average stay for substance abuse treatment is 30 days and 60 days for serous mental illness. Each facility has a residential behavioral health professional who is supported by a a team of peer support specialists, licensed practical nurses and behavioral health technicians. During october 2016 to september 2017, level 2 residential had 1705 admissions with 82% successfully completing the program. Center for hope is also a level 2 residential program that provides housing treatment services to pregnant women who have a history of co-occurring disorders. They can stay in the program during their pregnancy, as well as during postpartum. In october 2016 to september 2017, center for hope provided residential services to 51 pregnant women who had 22 children which included 20 babies born with negative toxicology screens at birth due to the their mothers' program involvement. From october 2016 to september 2017, 73% of the women who entered the residential program completed this program. Of the women that completed the program, 70% transitioned into permanent supportive housing at discharge (100% were homeless at admission) and 30% were employed when they left the program. 25 families are receiving permanent supportive housing services.
