Community Alternatives to Violence (www.commav.org)changed my life.
When I started working here I knew nothing about family violence, but I knew that I was about to start something great. I saw what had happened in my own life was abuse and that I could help others. Working with abusive behavior became my life.
Over the past 11 years I have become more passionate about our clients, their partners and the children. They continually teach me about abusive behavior and empower me to become more skilled and a bigger help to them. CAV clients have done some terrible things in their past, but every day they prove to me that change is possible.
I give much volunteer time to CAV because the cause is critical to save lives. I also give financially because the CAV cause is not a popular one--no warm and fuzzies here.
