Mission: Celebrating over 25 years of service, CIS in Charleston provides a nationally acclaimed dropout prevention program that surrounds students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.
Results: In the 2012-13 school year, 96% of the seniors who were involved with the CIS program on a regular basis achieved high school graduation. Additionally, 94% were promoted to the next grade, 92% improved their behavior at school, and nearly 70% of those who graduated were accepted into college.

Direct beneficiaries per year: 13,500 students with general services, and 1,300 students with individual services. We achieved a 95+% graduation rate among the latter group of case-managed students.
Geographic areas served: Charleston and Berkeley County schools
Programs: in-school services that address academic, behavioral, and social needs. These services include individual and group counseling, mentoring and tutoring, basic needs provision, and other services to help students overcome obstacles and stay in school through high school graduation.
