Mission: Columbus alliance for battered women is a shelter for battered women and provides emergency shelter, security, crisis intervention, and advocacy for adults and children victims of domestic violence.
Programs: During 2013 the organization:> received over 1,083 crisis calls, > shletered approximately 399 victims totaling over 8,773 bednights, > served approximately 173 non-resident victims, > provided financial assistance to approximately 151 families, and> held approximately 259 events/meetings for community awareness with over 6,957 people participating in these events.
during 2013, an "outreach" office was maintained in the downtown columbus area, which will allow domestic violence victims who do not need shelter to attend the weekly support group meetings and to receive other support services such as legal advocacy, counseling, and financial assistance.
