Mission: A community forum for civic discourse. Membership is open to all adults regardless of their political philosophy. Badgers look beyond politics to discuss today's issues broadly, respectfully and energetically. Knowledgeable officials, candidates and experts speak and answer member's questions, which are presented at luncheon forums and at other times. The name columbia basin badger reflects the members' tenacity when seeking clear information on an issue, and reminds all to retain a sense of humor and civility while tackling tough topics.
Programs: The columbia basin badger club (cbbc) successfully accomplished 11 monthly community forums where all of them were televised on a local public television station - kwsu. As a result of the forum topics that spanned local, national and international interests, the cbbc's balance sheet increased by 25%. Operationally, the cbbc appointed 5 new members to the board of directors and ended fy 2011 with a positive net balance of funds.
