Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Disaster Aid, Safety Education

Mission: Colt Walker Catalina was 2 years old when he tragically drowned on March 21, 2010, while in the care of a relative. Drowning is the leading cause of death in children ages 1-4. The Colt Catalina Foundation raises awareness for Drowning Prevention & Child Safety. Our mission is to educate the public on the importance of water safety. We provide Infant Aquatics®survivial swim lesson scholarships around the U.S. to those in financial need. Infant Aquatics®is the second-largest survival swim program in the world teaching infants and young children ages 6 months through 6 years the swim-float-swim method and we are proud to be partnered with them and be their top sponsor. Our hope is that no other family has to suffer the unimaginable pain Colt's family has endured.

The Colt Catalina Foundation has given out so many swim scholarships to my swim students to help aid for these survival swim lessons! What you do here is amazing! So many of my students would not have this life saving skill without the help of this program!

My daughters received amazing instruction and now have water survival skills if needed. A great foundation for water safety for the rest of their lives. Madison was amazing in teaching them. I can’t say enough great things about our experience.

I’ve had the joy of seeing Madison start CCF as a teenager and continue to grow it into a successful organization. Madison’s vision for the organization is well planned and I look forward to watching her efforts come to fruition.

Proud of Madison and the number of lives she has saved and I look forward to seeing many more lives saved throughout the future of CCF.

Lots of good still in store for CCF and all the great things Madison will do towards bringing awareness to drowning prevention and education.

Colt Catalina Foundation worked seamlessly with myself and a scholarship family that they sponsored. Due to their scholarship they allowed for a baby to learn self rescue.

My granddaughter has a tireless passion for this foundation, knowing colt and his family has given her the strength and determination in the fight against childhood drownings. I am so proud of all the work she has put forth through the years of perseverance and sadness to help sponsor swim lessons for families needing help. I feel she has made a huge effort in the community to organize events and inform the public of the choices that are available to them.

The Colt Catalina Foundation saved my baby girl - I’m sure of it! We had a pool accident where my fearless 3 year old jumped in. Luckily I was right there to get her out. This scary accident didn’t stop her though. We found the Colt Catalina Foundation and easily applied. She was in the pool the next week with her amazing instructor, Ms. Katja. She learned to swim so fast and is looking forward to even joining a swim team in the fall when she turns 5! Everyone is so impressed with her swim skills at such a young age and most of all, I feel safe knowing that she knows how to swim and can survive a fall into the pool if an accident happens. My mama heart is forever grateful!
