Collins Cupboard is so inspiring as they spread love and hope through their ministry. A dedication of selflessness and commitment to changing lives of those in need is the forefront of their existence. It’s so impressive to see a small organization do so much for so many as they pour out their love and support for the people in our community. It has been an absolute honor to watch this organization successfully grow from a vision to a reality.
I have been involved with Collins Cupboard Inc. since it was the brainchild of its President. When it began it was a closet in a local school located in a food desert. The children loved being able to pick out their after-school snacks and weekend meals. We had many donation drives and sent food from the wish list to stock the pantry.
Covid; however, put a new spin on things. But CCI did not let that stop them. When schools let out and we were all locked away in homes, CCI set up roadside "take a little, leave a little" pantries to help locals obtain the hard to locate essentials like cleaning supplies, toilet paper etc. Once we were able to interact again, CCI held Thanksgiving basket drives at local parks in order to provide Thanksgiving meals to families in need.
Currently CCI is working on an undergarment drive to provide low-income children with clean undergarments.
I am always happy to donate not only my money but my time to this worth organization. Children are our future, and Collins Cupboard Inc. strives to provide the food and other items children need to grow strong and thrive!
