This is such an important organization!! The amazing work they do for first responders is vital and immeasurable. We need more people like this in the world!
As a family member to the woman, Deborah who started the Code 9 work, I can honestly say I have never seen a person more dedicated to helping others. Her mission to bring awareness to the impact that unresolved trauma has on first responders and their families is to be admired. I have watched how many people the non profit has helped. Everyone involved with Code 9 Heroes is dedicated and they themselves have walked in the shoes of those effected by PTSD. They offer help and hope.
As a retired officer dealing with PTSD, I can not Express how important the work that Code 9 does. I personally know that their work is saving lives. I am forever grateful for this non profit.
The work that Code 9 Heroes and Families does to make mental health a priority for First Responders is so incredibly needed. Their dedication to these men and women is to be complimented. Helping communities to understand the impact of the trauma first responders deal with on a daily basis throughout their careers can only strengthen the community.
As the wife of an Army veteran and police officer, our home has always been one of service to others. With that service often comes a price that not only the individual pays, but the family does as well. PTS and PTSD is something that is most often dealt with silently due to the uncertainty of if your department is going to support you, or turn their backs on you. It is something that varies from person to person and many first responders have no idea where to turn for help. I was blown away when I discovered Code 9 and made sure to get in touch with our chaplain who ordered copies of the documentary to share with officers in the department. When my husband and I teach a LE Families class, we always talk about PTSD and share not just Code 9’s information, but the trailer to the documentary as well. We do this because we are so passionate about this topic and never want to see a family struggle and feel there is no one who understands. Code 9 isn’t just helping to break the stigma, they are kicking down the doors. They are important, they are passionate, they genuinely care about making a change, and they are necessary.
As a retired law enforcement, who was ambushed and shot in the line of duty, while investigating a homicide, Code 9 Heroes and Family is a blessing! I truly support their mission to making mental health a priority. I can attest to the need to provide peer support and advocating for those with PTSD, as I just lost a Brother of the Thin Blue Line to suicide. I can’t thank Deborah and Code 9 enough for her support and outreach to the officer’s family. I would also like to acknowledge and praise Deborah and Code 9 for co-producing Monochrome Documentary Series, produced by Tracy Lindsey Melchior. This series is designed to help bridge the gap between the community and law enforcement. We need this tool, more than ever now, in our society. I am grateful for Code 9, as I was able to raise over $2,500 in donations to help support the cause. Thank you Code 9 and Deborah for your dedication and mission to help our first responders. Truly a great nonprofit organization!

Code 9 Friends and family united is a diamond in the rough. This is one of very few non profits that has remained true to its mission, core values and integrity. The leadership is heart felt, and passionate about helping our first responders. They are willing to partner with any other organizations that are in it for the right reasons. Fiercely protective of the physical, mental and spiritual health of our heroes and their families, I have never seen them back down to pressure, financial woes or even occasional discouragement. As a Chaplain and counselor to first responders, military and families, I stand behind this organization 100% and consider them allies in a joint mission to help our heroes.
My husband and I are a retired NYPD Police Officer/ Lieutenant and we appreciate how Code 9 has been a tremendous help to our fellow Brothers in Blue. They are there for anyone in need and provide assistance for the PREVENTION of PTSD. We support them and are grateful for all the lives they have saved and continue to save.
Code 9 is an amazing organization that reaches out to first responders and their families. They raise awareness of PTSD and suicide among these men and women and offer resources for them to find the help and assist their families and loved ones as well. They offer hope and prove that people are not alone.
