Mission: The mission of coal river mtn. Watch is to stop the destruction of our communities and environment by mountain top removal mining, to improve the quality of life in our area and to help rebuild sustainable communities.
Programs: Appalachian community health emergency project to monitor, publicize, and educate about the health impacts related to mountaintop removal, and to work for public health protection
road show/storytelling project to host visiting groups and service projects, provide area tours to visiting reporters and groups, recruit and train volunteers and activists, go on speaking trips, and otherwise publicize mountaintop removal and related issues.
