Mission: To initiate and coordinate efforts that will enhance, conserve, and protect the natural ecosystems and rural lifestyles of the clearwater river region for present and future generations.
Programs: Weed project: coordinated a weed mapping project for the clearwater valley and implemented the clearwater valley coordinated invasive weed strategy. The project mapped over 200 miles of roads and 100 ¼ mile transects and sprayed over 500 acres. Residents in the clearwater valley (approximately 4,000) benefited from this project.
water quality project: twenty volunteers on 8 lakes took water quality measurements that were analyzed by the university of montana and then added to the database. Data is being used to assess the current situation and water quality trends as well as involve the community in the collection of data and analysis of results.
