Since 2015 this organization has surpassed my investment by producing results and sharing the feedback through written communication, social media, personal notes and invitations to events. I have increased my commitment and have challenged others to do the same. I am a proud citizen of Oakland and this is one of the reason why. We all deserve a chance at an education and employment. Civicorps provides both in a meaningful way!

Hi, I worked for Civicorps from Feb. 2012 to August 2016 and it was truly the most rewarding job I have ever had. As a development professional I was blessed to get to talk with and learn from the most amazing young people I have ever know. When I say amazing I mean strong, resilient, smart and giving individuals who did not let their past define them but were (are) actively working to better their future. The daily transformations I saw everyday made coming to work such a pleasure and impacted my own life in a significant way. I will always miss the young adults of Civicorps and their resilience in the face of incredible odds to not be an Oakland statistic but to create their own best life.

Civicorps is an amazing organization doing very necessary work in Oakland. The staff is extremely dedicated to the success of the students. There's a real sense of community being fostered among the teachers and students that is evident in the results they are able to achieve. The work being done at Civicorps creates real opportunities for the students and I'm proud to be a part of it.

I can see how this unique high school helps students with many challenges overcome them and to become productive members of society. The programs work because it addresses all aspects of the individual, not just the educational part.

I have been volunteering with Civicorps for more than 4 years and am very impressed with all of the ways they work with young adults (18-24) in our community to help them transform their lives. I've seen first hand how Civicorps' unique mix of services promotes long-term success with our students. These successes spread throughout the community to create the cornerstone of achievement for generations. Bravo Civicorps - keep up the great work!

I worked as a volunteer coach with the students at Civicorps for 2-1/2 years. My work was to assist these young people in writing 5-page papers on a current issue. I found most of these students determined and anxious to complete their program at Civicorps and move forward in further education or a better job. It was a very rewarding situation when I felt I'd made a difference.

Civicorps shares their data and statistics so that a donor can easily decide if they are doing what they say. With a 72% graduation rate, Civicorps is accomplishing what few other programs can claim working with 18-26 years olds who did not previously finish school.
