Causes: Homeless & Housing, Temporary Housing
Mission: To build a supportive community around persons experiencing homelessness in winston-salem/forsyth county, connecting the wider community with homeless persons working to meet housing, health and employment goals.
Programs: Operated a winter emergency overflow shelter - provided shelter for 577 homeless persons. We received support from 662 volunteers who gave 9,509 hours of their time to help run two men's shelters, one women's shelter and a shelter check-in site.
opened the community first center to help connect homeless persons with area resources and services. We offer creative and pragmatic programming three mornings a week and one-on-one case coordination weekdays. We served 615 homeless persons and 62 volunteers donated 1,082 hours of time to the community first center.
