Mission: The foundation was formed in response to the accelerating development of extreme methods of gas extraction throughout the united states. The foundation is engaged in undertaking initiatives to alert and educate the public about the dangerous and adverse impacts that fossil fuel extraction pose to our precious water resources, including threats to public health, to local economic and agricultural development, and to common natural resources. The hidden costs of fossil fuel extraction include the degradation of our environment, public health, civil rights and democracy.
Programs: The foundation provides a forum for an ever expanding network of regional and national experts in the field of environmental law, conservation, sustainable energy development, watershed and foodshed management. The foundation engages audiences, policy makers, community leaders and citizens in the necessary and vital transition from dependence on fossil fuels to a renewable clean energy future.
