Mission: To promote non-violence, peace, human rights, diversity and justice for all;to bring the attentions of the world on the plight of those in crisis: victims of disasters, natural or otherwise; those suffering from disease and hunger; those without shelter; the underprivileged; those who are infirm; children who are neglected, orphaned or worse; the severely ill; the very old and the very young those least able to fend for themselves;to raise funds for those in need who exemplify the precepts of the organization to aid in the provision of the most immediate needs such as shelter, food, clothing and medical assistance;to provide water filtration systems in the form of reverse osmosis purification to provide potable drinking water in areas in which diseases have been prevalent due to improperly treated water sources;to generate funds to aid other organizations as they seek to provide aid and comfort.
Programs: Since 2011, the president of citizens first, dr. Amarit singh and his wife, jagdish, have traveled to india six times. There they have met with local officials throughout the region, conducting site visits and determining the needs for advanced water purification systems, designed to convert dangerously infected waters to a safe drinking and bathing source (i. E. Converting to potable water). The costs are estimated to be approximately $10,000 for each system. To date, the organization has expended $25,142 in water filtration systems that are now in place and has since identified a number of additional worthy sites that are indesperate need of such systems, for which it has amassed tools and supplies. Dr. And singh continue to travel extensively, yet inexpensively, by staying with friends, family and local officials during their trips.
