Mission: Citizen Works was founded in April, 2001 by Ralph Nader to help the citizen movement recruit, train and mobilize citizens. Citizen Works advances justice by strengthening citizen participation in power. We are here to develop systems to help people advocate for themselves, not to fight for people on issue after issue. Instead, we use the existing work of many developed nonprofits, community groups, and individuals to help people learn about and get involved in the citizen movement. We work with existing organizations to institute simple mechanisms for bringing activists together to make the citizen movement more than the sum of its parts.
