Mission: Choices in childbrith is a non-profit education, policy, and advocacy organization that advances women's health by promoting safe, healthy, and empowered births. Choices in childbirth offers workshops, tools, and resources to help expecting moms evaluate the many options for where, how, and with whom to birth. Choices in childbirth also advocates for evidence-based birth practices and improved maternal health policies on the local, state, and federal levels. Choices in childbirth is putting the power of childbirth back in the hands of women and families, one birth at a time.
Programs: We empower women to make infomred decisions about their birth expereince through educational workshops, tools and access to providers. We offer written materials, including reports and research; we create programming such as the classrom edition of the business of being born; and we host workshops where expecting parents can learn from parents and providers simultaneously in an interactive setting. We connect with and advocate to other leaders, policy makers, and health care providers to promote and provide accessible, culturally competent, and evidence based maternity care services for all women. We engage the public through events, outreach, and volunteer opportunities. We amplify women's voices to their providers, to other women, and to policy makers.
